This is my story
Why?
I’ve spent my whole life in recording studios in Europe and in Los Angeles, producing, recording, mixing music, really all kinds of genres. But because I had played the violin since I was a little kid, I was always interested in arranging and recording strings, so I always had a lot of strings involved in my productions. Even before I became a decent engineer, I was always doing string arrangements.
Where?
Now I created this website to finally have a platform that gives young artists and composers a quick and affordable access to the sound of a real orchestra. Or, let’s say, an almost real – orchestra, because we don’t actually hire an orchestra – we just create one by playing one instrument after the other. And all of that online, worldwide, for everyone.
How?
I have actually used this technique for years, because it’s always so much fun to just take the violin and play. And of course, I have done A LOT of midi programming and editing in my life. It has been fun – I have figured out how to get good results with my mouse and a bunch of plugins. But, honestly, it just takes soooo much time. When I was working for Hans Zimmer on Sherlock Holmes, I was programming strings 24/7!
Who?
I see producers, engineers, composers or songwriters doing the same thing day by day because they don’t have access to real musicians, let alone a live orchestra. And I wish they would focus their energy on something that they are really good at, like producing, mixing, or writing songs. My thing has always been to arrange and record strings, usually for friends and for the projects I was involved with as an engineer or producer.
What?
Now with this website, I am opening up this amazing opportunity to the world out there. I have learned so much just by working with incredible musicians, some of them real stars! And it’s amazing how much you can absorb by just beeing part of their world. With this website here I am giving you access to this world and what I have learned beeing part of it.
When?
